6:1     seeGen 1:28  –  Gods fist commandment to multiply and cover the earth, is in it core being followed here, but is there some perversion?

in 2-4 is God happy with man? (we will get to the nephilim later)

Very simply in these verses is God happy with Man?

Of course not, what is He un-happy about? maybe we can not answer this yet….

What is the punishment?

Man is being divided from Gods Sprit here…

“My Spirit shall not abide in man forever”

perhaps the removal of the holy spirit is what actually limits the life of Man, but we know the effects are not immediate (Noah lives for a lot longer then 120 years)

We also know (by reading ahead) that “God wants to crumple all of creation into a ball and start over again”

ok… sons of God….there are many throies on Sons of God and nephilim.  The first and most popular finds its root in Job 1:6 where the ESV says “ow there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.”  here Sons of God is clearly Angels

and yes None of us debate that there at least was a time when angels and demons walked the earth

this lead to a rabbit trail on new heaven/hell and old heaven /hell, see The Rich Man and Lazarus in  Luke 16:19 and um… most of revelation.  called them two waiting rooms, one is the penthouse, the other…not so much(see rich man) only to look forward to 2nd death, but back to the main trail

the 2nd verse for Sons of Man being Angels is 1 co 11:9-12 This of curse leads to a new rabbit trail, that no one ever wants to put down (we can discuss weather or not woman need to cover there to cover there heads anther time, that is it own study)   What the angels have to do with this is the real concern, we are left with 3 possibilities

a. angels lust for human woman, supporting the Sons of God being angels.

b. Angels are Gods “eyes” in the Church, men’s Lust are the real problem.  Just as Cherubim saw blood on the mercy seat do they see sin in the church?

c. Cherubim are guardian Angels… so why make them more work with the lust of Men?

note b and c are the lusts of men

nephilim is only used in one other place in the bible Nu 13:23-33 where the Hebrews are very intimated by the Canaanites and IU think just fell back on ghost stories they head on how tough the nephilim where and there was no nephilim post flood.

So we go to the root of the word ????? (n?·p??l); have an object go from a higher position to a lower position, often with the implication of being out of control in relation to the situation   –   ot to fall   making a loose translation of nephilim fallen ones or…… could it be fallen Angels?  Are Fallen Angles actually aliens? (do a Google search on nephilim and you will see what I am talking about)  maybe crop circles are actually caused by Michal chasing screwtape? (thank you Matt for that one)

The inter-testamental apocalyptic book of 1 Enoch asserts that these giants were the result of the union of angels and humans and that the mixing of the orders of creation is the reason God sent the flood. 1 Enoch also asserts that these giants who lost their physical bodies in the flood are the demons seeking to indwell human bodies for their own selfish reasons. (Utley, R. J. (2001). How it All Began)

Or could there be some thing simpler?

Utley leaned in another direction in his commentary

“The Nephilim” This implies “the fallen ones” (from the Hebrew naphal, BDB 658, KB 709). It seems to me that they are analogous to the giants (cf.Num. 13:33; alsoDeut. 2:10–11;9:2; and the Septuagint, the Vulgate and Peshitta translations). However, other interpreters such as Martin Luther and H.C. Leupold assert that this term should be interpreted “tyrants” which implies the powerful kings of Cain’s line who had large harems.

J. Wash Watts in Old Testament Teaching, pp. 28–30, says “Nephilim refers to Noah and his family as those who separated themselves from those of Cain’s line and Seth’s line who were intermarrying. In this interpretation Nephilim are the sons of the “One true God”

Mathew 22:30 sates that upon resection we will not marry, but be like the angels.  So angels do not merry, if they do not merry, do they breed?  I do not believe angels get a different law on this matter.  Those that support the angel / demon theory say that fallen angels went against the intended asexual nature, But this would require demons to be able to create (add to there body’s) without God.

So my conclusions are that sons of God are the line of Seth, and Daughters of man are the line of Cain.  Cain was fallen, making ins line “the fallen.”  They where evil ones not afaid to offend God war like and destructive, men to be feared, men …”These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.  Godly men should have separated out from them, but they did not, leading to Greater evil.  So my Final conclusion is any one out side of God are technically Nephilim.
